PEORIA (25News Now) – The executive director of the Peoria Park District has high hopes for a three-day Summer Camp music festival on the Riverfront on Memorial Day weekend, but she indicated it’s not a done deal.

Emily Cahill confirmed park district leaders have spoken with promoter Jay Goldberg Events and Entertainment about a three-day concert series on a single stage, which she said would be a “fantastic addition to the Riverfront calendar.” However, Cahill cautioned that “the park district has not yet finalized the full plan for the event.”

“We appreciate the collaboration with the Goldberg group and believe that together, we always put on some great events in the space. I have full confidence that this will be no exception,” Cahill told 25News.

Music fest organizers announced on Facebook Friday that the Solshine Reverie will not return to Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe in 2025, citing “difficult economic factors continuing to impact the festival market in various ways.”

Concerts on the Riverfront will not be a camping festival, but will focus on the music, and concertgoers will be encouraged to stay at any of the hotels that are within walking distance of the Riverfront venue.

The shows would be held May 23-25, and “should be a great weekend for Peoria,” said Cahill.

Organizers said a full announcement of events will be announced in the new year. For those looking beyond 2025, they said the Summer Camp Music Festival will return for the 25th edition on May 22-24, 2026.
