Advance Auto Parts will close hundreds of stores across the country, as well as four distribution centers, due to a lower demand for vehicle parts.
The company announced the news this week with the release of its third-quarter report on Thursday, Nov. 14, which also reported an adjusted loss of 4 cents per share, compared to a loss of $1.19 a year ago.

How many Advance Auto Parts stores are closing?
Though executives haven’t yet announced which stores are closing, we know from a regulatory filing that the company plans to close 523 corporate stores, leave 204 independent locations and shut down four distribution centers.
The car part supplier’s gross profit increased 11% in the third quarter this year, a drop from the nearly 37% increase in last year’s third quarter. Due to this, these closures are set to be complete by the middle of 2025.
