Users with mild to moderate hearing loss will first take Apple’s Hearing Test, a clinical-grade test based on pure-tone audiometry. The test takes about five minutes to complete using the AirPods Pro 2 and a compatible iPhone or iPad. Upon completion, users will receive a summary of their hearing results, which can be stored in the Health app and shared with healthcare providers.
Apple stated, “After setup, the feature enables personalized dynamic adjustments so users have the sounds around them boosted in real time.” This setup allows the hearing test results to be applied to phone calls, music, movies, and games automatically through the Media Assist feature.
