Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is starring in Alice Winocour‘s next movie, Stitches, Deadline has confirmed.
The feature entitled Stitches is set in the world of high fashion, kicking off in Paris. All other plot details are being kept secret. The movie will reportedly be shot in French and English ala Winocour’s previous feature, Proxima.
Charles Gillibert‘s Paris-based CG Cinema is producing. Winocour is working again with Pathe Films here after her feature Paris Memories which premiered in Cannes’ Directors Fortnight and notched its actress Virginie Efira a Cesar Award.
Winocour’s Proxima starred Eva Green as an astronaut who is readying for a long run on the International Space Station. She contends with maneuvering a male dominated environment, as well as life as a mother. Green earned a Cesar nom.
Jolie is heavy in this season’s awards conversation for her turn as Maria Callas in the Fremantle/Apartment/Netflix movie, Maria. The movie, directed by Pablo Larrain, is 77% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Jolie also directed the western inspired two-hander, Without Blood, which world premiered at TIFF. That movie stars Salma Hayek and Demián Bichir. The pic follows a woman who survives a massive killing of her family, who later in life confronts their murderer. It is based on the novel by Alessandro Baricco.
