After more than a year of touring, recording and six years of working toward a record deal in Nashville, Poplarville’s country music trio Chapel Hart is ready to take the next step.
“We wanted to come into the industry and prove that we are good enough to be here,” Danica Hart said.
While Chapel Hart has seen a lot of successes, it hasn’t produced the industrywide support the band had hoped for, so they are going to do things the Chapel Hart way.
What Chapel Hart’s next step is might not be clear, but sisters Danica Hart, Devynn Hart and cousin Trea Swindle are taking a step back and planning that new path for their music careers.
“We are not going anywhere,” Chapel Hart wrote in a Facebook post after making the announcement. “We could never leave music; we could never leave y’all. Music is our passion and it’s our life’s mission. We are just choosing to do music on our terms without the pressures of the music industry saying we have to do this or be that.”
While many people in the music industry have supported Chapel Hart, including their “Grand Ole Opry family,” it hasn’t panned out as the group had hoped. So they are finishing up their scheduled performance dates and offering some for free to thank their fans.
While some fans might be disappointed, Chapel Hart wants them to know they will still be performing and putting out their videos and new music. It will just be on their own terms.
“We’re not giving up,” Devynn Hart told fans in the video announcement.
“We’re not going anywhere,” Swindle added. “But we are not doing the industry stuff. We are here for you all.”
As the group makes the transition to the next state of their career, they are asking fans to continue their support.
“So in our journey of independence, we’re gonna need you all more than ever,” the band wrote. “We will need you louder and prouder.”
Chapel Hart received nationwide recognition after receiving the golden buzzer on “America’s Got Talent” in 2022. They auditioned with their own song, “You Can Have Him, Jolene,” a take on Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”
The group made it to the Top 5 on the show and for the past year have been on a whirlwind tour and recorded a new album.
