CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Charlottesville nonprofit Food Sharing is Caring gave out groceries in Tonsler Park on Sunday, January 26.
The food drive welcomed everybody with no questions asked and allowed people to grab as much as they needed.
They will be giving out groceries every Sunday to make sure people have enough food for the whole week.
The director of the organization says it’s important to think of the community every day, not just special occasions or holidays.
“It means a lot to me to come in here and see these people every single week and smile.” said Edisa Fafic, Director of Food Sharing is Caring. “All of us come together.”
The non-profit is looking for volunteers to drive and distribute the groceries.
