Billy Ray Cyrus just had a rather rough go at it on stage.

The 63-year-old country singer was one of the performers at President Donald Trump’s Liberty Ball following the inauguration on Monday. Cyrus performed songs such as “Achy Breaky Heart” and the remix to Lil Nas X’s song “Old Town Road.”

However, there were a couple of issues. The first was the singer’s voice, which appeared to be hoarse. While performing an a capella version of “Old Town Road,” Cyrus claimed his guitar was cut off.

“Is my guitar still on?” he asked the stage crew. “I think they cut me off. I don’t hear my guitar anymore.”

Claiming he was on stage to kill time, Cyrus continued to speak to the crowd.

“Check? Is anybody awake?” Cyrus asked, turning to the back of the stage for help. “Y’all want me to sink more or you want me to just get the hell off the stage?”

After eluding to Carrie Underwood’s technical difficulties resulting in her singing an a capella version of “America the Beautiful” during the inauguration, Cyrus tried to soldier on and sing a part of “Achy Breaky Heart” before exiting the stage.
