It’s been a busy summer for Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris who announced her presidential candidacy for the 2024 election back in July. Emhoff has since been a steady supporter of Harris and attended the Democratic National Convention in her merch just a few weeks ago.
But, in case you didn’t know yet, outside of being Harris’s stepdaughter, Emhoff has a flourishing career of her own in the fashion industry. While she’s probably best known for her knitting work and her Soft Hands Knitting Club, the Parsons alum also become a New York Fashion Week front row regular and has even taken the runway before. (After all, she signed onto IMG as a model in 2021 after gaining attention at the inauguration, and this year, she signed a contract with United Talent Agency.)
Today, September 9, 2024, Emhoff returned to the runway for the Coach Spring-Summer 2025 show at NYFW. From the American brand’s new collection, she wore a matching leather mini skirt and blazer set with a custom “I Heart NY” tourism t-shirt and a black baseball hat. Her curly hair was slicked back for a wet look. She also kept her signature round glasses on, giving the outfit her own personal charm.
Emhoff and Coach had a star-studded audience. The show’s attendees included Coco Jones, Julez Smith, Charles Melton, Kathryn Newton, Storm Reid, Nanon and more.
Coach has had celebrity models on the runway before. Back in 2018, Selena Gomez also modeled for the fashion house. More recently, in 2022, brand ambassador Lil Nas X made his NYFW runway debut at the Coach Spring-Summer 2023 show in a dynamic look that featured a leather outfit and pink jelly sandals. So, Emhoff is continuing the tradition!
