RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills Farmers Market is in Rapid City every Saturday, but this weekend was a bit more tasteful. For the first weekend in November, the Farmers Market kicked off its winter season. Even though it’s getting colder, the market remains a popular destination.
“Having the Farmer’s Market is so important for small home-based businesses, because it gives us that exposure to people,” said Laura Floyd, owner of the local Tasteful Noods, specializing in homemade pasta, “This is such a great group, especially if you’re doing food products, because people think Farmer’s Market and they think ‘what’s for dinner tonight?’”
For many vendors like Floyd, the Black Hills Farmers Market acts as their only store front. Many vendors operate out of their own homes, so having an avenue to connect with the community directly is vital.
The Black Hills Farmers Market is operation year-round. November through April hours are Saturdays, 9am to 12pm. For more information, head to blackhillsfarmersmarket.org
