COLUMBIA, S.C. – Gardner-Webb swimming attended the final day of the Gamecock Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina on Friday, November 17 in the Carolina Natatorium. 
 
The Runnin’ Bulldogs men’s team finished 4th out of five teams while the women finished 7th out of eight teams. The men scoring 659.50 and the women tallying 141.
 
South Carolina’s Invite included the likes of: UNCW, Georgia Southern, Vanderbilt, UNF, University of Tampa, and familiar foe Milligan University.
 
14 ‘Dawgs finished in the top three of their heat/finals, a five total upgrade from day two, to help Gardner-Webb on the final day of competition. To highlight the Runnin’ Bulldogs, senior Sydney Hall picked up a 1st place finish in heat D of the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.20.
 
Junior Zuri Ramsey, sophomore Justin Bender, and freshman Davis Adcock each finished in the top-3 of their heat/events twice. Ramsey in the 100-yard freestyle (2nd, 45.98) and the 50-yard freestyle (2nd, 20.93), Bender in the 100-yard breaststroke (2nd, 54.55) and the 200-yard IM (2nd, 1:50.57), and Adcock in the 200-yard backstroke (3rd, 1:51.18) and the 100-yard backstroke (3rd, 50.63).
 
In total, 29 GWU Swimmers found the podium at the Gamecock Invitational.
 
The Runnin’ Bulldogs hit the water next time on Nov. 30 for the USA Swimming Winter Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. for a three-day competition.
