Horror movies have been reliable attractions for Hollywood this entire year. That continues as we head into the official scary season, with anticipated sequels like “Terrifier 3” and “Smile 2,” among others.

But it’s also the time of year when more familiar scares come to the big screen. More than 75 classic and recent favorite horror movies are coming back to Milwaukee-area movie theaters now through Halloween. Here’s a guide to what’s scheduled to play so far.

What’s showing at Oriental Theatre

The Oriental’s “Bite Club” series takes a vampire-centric approach, ranging from some original classics to kid-friendly horror to modern international takes on the genre Oct. 3-27. Tickets are $13. Info: mkefilm.org/bite-club.

AMC Theatres, including AMC Mayfair Mall, are hosting BlumFest 2024, bringing back several movies from the studio that reinvented the horror genre.
