New Yorker Gaga has sold more than 170 million albums and has appeared in numerous Irish venues down through the years, including the Aviva stadium and 3Arena in Dublin and the Odyssey in Belfast.
She has also appeared in a number of movies, including opposite Bradley Cooper in the remake of A Star Is Born, with Adam Driver in House of Gucci and alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie à Deux.
That movie follows Arthur Fleck, played by Phoenix, as he’s prosecuted for the crimes he committed in the first Joker film and thrown into Arkham State Hospital, where he meets the love of his life, Lee, who is played by Gaga.
Despite the years-long anticipation for the Joker sequel, the new movie became a critical and box office flop and amassed just $40m in box office sales in America on its opening weekend.
Director Tim Burton has also been spotted in various restaurants around Dublin and was pictured with broadcaster Ray Foley for a selfie last weekend.
Burton is directing Wednesday, which first aired in Netflix back in 2022, and follows the adventures of the cynical, tough and sarcastic teen Wednesday Addams.
The series is a sleuthing and supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday’s years as a student at Nevermore Academy and features a star cast including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Christina Ricci, Luis Guzmán, Gwendoline Christie and Jenna Ortega.
Ortega has popped up randomly at various public events in Dublin, including last Friday’s rugby match between Ireland and New Zealand in the Aviva stadium, Chappell Roan’s gig in the 3Olympia theatre and the Forbidden Fruit festival in Kilmainham.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is staying in the Dalkey area and her husband Michael Douglas recently flew into the capital to celebrate the couple’s joint birthdays, including the famed actor’s milestone 80th, enjoying a lunch at the Gables in Foxrock.
The star couple later joined Bono and his wife Ali at their home in Killiney, where they serenaded the pair with a slice of birthday cake with a candle.
The first series of the Addams Family spin-off Wednesday became a massive hit after its release on Netflix in November 2022 and soon became the streamer’s most-watched English language show of all time.
The first season was filmed in Romania. Season two is being shot in Ireland due to logistical difficulties with the original production, with most of the filming taking place at Ardmore and Ashford Studios in Co Wicklow.
Some outdoor locations have also been used, including Powerscourt waterfall in Co Wicklow.
Our picture shows some of the outdoor sets at Ashford Studios, which include a site called Pilgrim World, where Lady Gaga is believed to have been on site.
