For the first time, the South Korean drama ‘When the Stars Gossip‘ starring Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin finally announced a premiere date. A space-themed romantic comedy is to premiere on January 4, 2024. The production team has also put out a set of stills to kick off the excitement which only highlighted the stellar cast and the tension in space aboard the space station.
The drama shows Gong Ryong (played by Lee Min Ho) as an OB-GYN who makes a trip to the space station for a vacation. However, he soon finds himself with a secret mission. He becomes mysterious in character. Then there’s Gong Hyo Jin as Commander Eve Kim, a stickler for the rules and her strong-headed nature will give a good vibe especially as she navigates through the perils of space. Oh Jung Se plays Kang Kang Soo, a researcher studying fruit flies in space.
Kang Soo, the second son of a global financial tycoon, had an easy life until the day he went into space, which marked the beginning of his personal growth. Han Ji Eun plays Choi Go Eun, the fiancée of Gong Ryong and a solo heiress to Korea’s richest conglomerate, MZ Group. Choi Go Eun epitomizes perfection while adding depth to the drama’s storyline, as she is particularly famous for her beauty, intelligence, and talented attributes. Kim Joo Hun plays Park Dong Ah, a veteran astronaut who works for Seoul MCC’s Ground Control Center; Lee El is Chief Kang, responsible for Earth-space communication.
The twin sisters, Min Lee and Donna Lee, are portrayed by Lee Cho Hee. With opposing personalities between them, these twin sisters bring both comedy and rich complexity to the story. Heo Nam Jun is Lee Seung Joon, a scientist on board the station who does extraordinary research about dementia in mice. Directed by Park Shin Woo of ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ and written by Seo Sook Hyang of ‘Don’t Dare to Dream’, ‘When the Stars Gossip’ promises a blend of romance, comedy, and suspense in the high-stakes backdrop of a space station. The drama is going to handle an unlikely relationship between an astronaut and a space tourist, and their respective private and professional lives while negotiating what is unique to them in space.
Readers have been eagerly waiting for the drama that already emerged as one of the most interesting series for 2024. ‘When the Stars Gossip’ premieres on January 4, 2024.
