Paul, who has previously competed in events such as the Highland Games, will take part in the Lincolnshire Truck Pull Championships on 20 July in North Scarle.

He will raise funds for the Johnson Ward and Cardiac Short Stay hospital teams.

Paul said: “I was inspired by my trainer Dave Johnson. He has been doing this for many years and gave me the belief that I could also do it.”

He said it was a case of “mind over matter” and added he would be “a little bit emotional” with his father there to watch and support.

“It means so much to have him there,” he said.
