Lindsey Vonn finished 21st in the women’s downhill during the team combined event at the 2025 World Alpine Ski Championships on Tuesday (11 February).

The American alpine skier faced a tough test on the Austrian slopes of Saalbach as she recorded a time of 1:44.11 among 26 racers. Compatriot Lauren Macuga ended on top with a class run completed in 1:41.60.

After Macuga stormed into the lead in blistering time, Vonn had work to do to keep up with the world Super-G bronze medallist.

The 40-year-old legend crossed the line 2.51 seconds off albeit with a big smile on her face. , in acceptance that she had given her all.

The 2010 Olympic downhill champion has eamed up with AJ Hurt, who will race in the slalom event later on Tuesday. Vonn finished 15th in the women’s downhill over the weekend and did not finish in the women’s Super-G earlier on 6 February.
