LAKE CITY, Minn.- As day one of competition comes to a close at The Watkins Invitational, the Minot State men’s golf team sits tied for 2nd place with Minnesota State.
The men’s golf team shot a team-total of 295 on the day. In 1st place is Concordia shooting 280 after round 1.
Leading the Beavers is Chase Gedak and Jace Carslisle who are in a five-way tie for 7th shooting an even-par of 72. Following Gedak and Carslisle is Zach Hendrickson who is in a 6-way tie for 20th shooting 2-over par. Darian Herlick and Winston Grayson both sit tied for 40th shooting 5-over par.
Competing as an individual is Joshua Tu who sits tied for 52nd shooting 7-over par.
On the women’s side, the Beavers are tied for 8th with Minnesota Crookston after the first day of competition. The Beavers shot a team-total of 323.
Lauryn Keller leads the Beavers shooting 9-over par. Keller sits tied for 26th after the first 18. Holly Knudsen, Zoe Banack, and Jaci Jones all sit in an 8-way tie for 28th after shooting 10-over par. Abigail Goettle finishes day 1 tied in 56th place shooting 19-over par.
The Beavers return to The Jewel Golf Club Tuesday morning to compete in the second 18 holes of the Watkins Fall Invitational.
