TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men’s Tennis is set to commence the spring season at home with a doubleheader against the New Mexico State Aggies Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. MST. This weekend, the Wildcats will spend the weekend on the road in Tallahassee, Fla. for a pair of matches against Georgia State on Friday, Jan. 17 (3:30 p.m. MST), and Florida State on Saturday, Jan. 18 (11:00 a.m. MST).

Last Monday, Arizona came in at No. 6 in the ITA’s Preseason Coaches Poll. The following day, the Cats tabbed in at No. 2 in the Big 12 Preseason Poll, just behind TCU, the 2024 National Champions. The ranks come after a strong fall season for the Wildcats, with two standouts, junior Jay Friend and senior Colton Smith, both making runs at the NCAA Singles Championships in November. Smith and Friend currently sit at No. 5 and No. 6 in the national polls, respectively.

The Cats last faced off against the Aggies in February 2024, where Arizona took the victory 7-0. The Cats have won each of their 20 total matches against New Mexico State.

Friday’s match will be the first-ever competition between Arizona and GSU, and Saturday’s match will be the first time since 2004 that the Seminoles and Wildcats face off.

Tuesday’s matches will be held at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. Streaming and live stats will be available on PlaySight and StatBroadcast.
