GRAND HAVEN — These days, it’s hard to go anywhere, especially online, without being confronted by President Donald Trump, former President Joe Biden, or some other political scandal.
Even for the most involved, reading or arguing about politics can have a significant impact on mental health. The Momentum Center, a local nonprofit, will host a townhall on just that topic, including panels and discussions at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at 401 N. Seventh St. in Grand Haven.
Interested parties must register online at momentumcentergh.org/townhall-politics.
Panelists include:
- Deirdre Johnston, Professor Emerita at Hope College, on “Mediating our Responses”
- Psychiatrist Dr. James Dumerauf on “Catastrophic Thinking”
- Pat Roehling on “Impact on Relationships”
- Marissa Doshi of Hope College on “The Role of Social Media”
- Fred Johnson of Hope College on “Lessons from History”
- Lupita Reyes of LAR Counseling on “Current Immigration Climate”
