Jockey Michael O’Sullivan dies aged 24 after fall in race
Irish jockey Michael O’Sullivan has died aged 24 as a result of injuries suffered during a fall in a race 10 days ago. Dr Jennifer Pugh, chief medical officer of the IHRB, said in a statement: “Michael’s family took the decision to donate his organs at this incredibly difficult time, but in doing so made a choice that will make a real difference to the lives of other patients and their families.” O’Sullivan died surrounded by his family at Cork University Hospital.
