EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso police arrested a auto body shop owner on several counts of “deceptive business practice.”
According to the El Paso Police Department, on Jan. 16, investigators with EPPD’s Auto Theft Task Force arrested 41-year-old Emmanuel Cervantes for two outstanding warrants for “deceptive business practice with previous conviction.”
Police said the investigation then revealed Cervantes was allegedly using a vehicle he was supposed to be repairing as his personal vehicle for his personal errands.
Police said this discovery led to the additional charge of “unauthorized use of a vehicle.”

Furthermore, police revealed that on Jan. 22, Cervantes was re-arrested on two more warrants for “deceptive business practice with previous conviction.”
Cervantes was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
A combined bond of $120,000 was set for all five charges.
