Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been branded some of Hollywood‘s “biggest losers” by an outlet described as the “bible” of showbiz.

The Hollywood Reporter is seen as an extremely influential outlet for the industry – last week it released its biggest winners and losers lists in Hollywood. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were on the latter list.

Speaking on the slight, showbiz and royal expert Kinsey Schofield said: “They’ve revealed the biggest Hollywood winners and losers of 2023. Harry and Meghan, who certainly consider themselves Hollywood elite, have found themselves on the losers side.”

The Hollywood Reporter article calls the Sussexes’ Netflix biography and Prince Harry‘s Spare “whiny” while claiming the couple’s brand is a “sanctimonious bubble just begging to be popped.” It said a South Park episode that savaged Meghan and Harry was “the pin”.

The article also highlighted an episode during the collapse of their Spotify deal which saw a top executive brand them as “grifters”.

Speaking on Talk TV, Ms Schofield added: “The Hollywood Reporter [is] basically the bible in this city. This has got to hurt Harry and Meghan personally and it’s got to have William Morris Endeavor (WME)- her current talent agency – scrambling to figure out what their next steps are.”

Rumours have been swirling surrounding Meghan’s relationship with WME, although there is no evidence that the agency is looking to part ways with Meghan.

A source close to WME previously told Daily Express US: “There’s absolutely no suggestion – yet – that there will be a parting of the ways. But one thing has become crystal clear.

“Whether or not Meghan was the source of a single word in Endgame, the fact is that its contents have backfired enormously on her and Harry. Quite aside from their family issues, the public perception of them both has taken another big hit, resulting in a further loss of popularity and making it much harder to market her.”

Fury around Endgame – written by royal author Omid Scobie who was previously branded a “mouthpiece” for the Sussexes – has dragged Meghan and Harry back into the spotlight.

The book savaged several members of the Royal Family and the Dutch version of the tome inadvertently named two royals who allegedly raised “concerns” over Prince Archie’s skin colour before he was born.

The allegations created a media firestorm and reignited a row that has been simmering since Meghan Markle first raised the issue in an interview with TV megastar Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

Sources close to Meghan and Harry have denied that they had anything to do with Endgame, but that hasn’t stopped the fallout from the book engulfing the couple.
