CARROLLTON, Ga. –– The Florida A&M Rattlers continue their road stretch as they head to Carrollton, Georgia, eager to get their first win as they take on the UWG Wolves.
Both teams are looking to bounce back after challenging starts, with FAMU coming off a tough 58-50 loss to Jacksonville and West Georgia falling 88-53 to Georgia Tech. This matchup sets the stage for one team to see their first win.
West Georgia is averaging 58.0 points per game and relies heavily on the contributions of Destiny Jones, who leads the team with 11.3 points per game. Zuriyah Davis (9.7 ppg) and K’Nari Holliday (8.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg) provide additional scoring and rebounding support, with Holliday ranking second in the ASUN in rebounds.
The Rattlers must control the glass and limit turnovers against a Wolves team that has shown promise on the boards to claim their first victory. FAMU’s three-point shooting could be the difference-maker, but they’ll need to ensure consistent defensive pressure to contain West Georgia’s top scorers.
Players to Watch
Sydney Hendrix: Nearly averaging a double-double with 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
D’Mya Griffin: A reliable sharpshooter from deep, Griffin is shooting 42.9% from three and provides a spark for the Rattlers’ offense.
Cheyenne McEvans: Perfect from beyond the arc this season, McEvans adds offensive versatility while contributing 12.3 points per game.
The Rattlers will look to get their first win as they travel to Carrollton. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the Coliseum.
