GAME 22

Eastern Illinois continues its four game road trip on Tuesday night as the Panthers travel to SIUE to wrap up the regular season series with the Cougars.  After opening the year with a 10-0 OVC mark, the third best start to conference play in school history, EIU lost two straight on the road last week at Western Illinois and Lindenwood.  The Panthers enter the week at 13-8 overall, 10-2 in the OVC and locked in a three-way tie for first place in the OVC.  SIUE enters with a 4-17 record overall, 2-10 in the OVC as the Cougars are one of four teams tied for eighth place in the league battling the final spot in this year’s OVC Tournament.

MCGLONE KEEPS CLIMB UP EIU CHARTS

Macy McGlone scored 21 points on Saturday at Lindenwood recording her 27th career 20-point scoring game during her three seasons at EIU.  The effort moved her up one more spot on the EIU career scoring list moving into 14th with 1,338 career points.  McGlone needs 96 more points to move into the EIU career Top 10 where she would catch Linda Ellsworth (1977-81 / 1,434 pts).  McGlone is also closing in on Ellsworth on another EIU chart needing 13 rebounds to catch her for third on the EIU career rebounding list.  McGlone is currently fourth with 829 rebounds.  The senior sits in third all-time with 145 blocks adding three more to her career total on Saturday at Lindenwood giving her 12 straight games with at least one blocked shot.   She already owns EIU’s single season (26) and career records for doubles-doubles (41) ranking 11th in the NCAA this season with 11 double-doubles.

EIU WINS BENCH PLAY PRODUCTION

For the ninth time this season in OVC play Eastern Illinois finished a game with the advantage in bench production as the Panthers held a 12-7 margin in that stat on Saturday against Lindenwood.  For the season EIU is third in the OVC in bench scoring averaging 20.1 points per game with a high of 56 bench points in the win over Morehead State.  That total accounts for 32 percent of the Panthers scoring on average for the year.  EIU has had seven double figure scoring games off the bench this season led by Tiny Lewis with four.  Ella Lune, Georgia Cox and Sydney-James Desroches have all added one double figure game this season.
