ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester College men’s tennis team fell to Gustavus on the road, 7-0 in a MIAC dual Sunday afternoon. The Scots are now 8-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference. The Gusties, who are ranked 23th in Division III, improve to 16-9 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC.
Gustavus took all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Macalester’s No. 1 doubles team of first years Derek Chen (South Kingstown, R.I./Moses Brown School) and Charles Flaman (Calgary, Alberta/Rundle College) dropped their match, 6-3 to Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorff. Flaman played the closest singles match of the day, eventually falling to Dominik Knutson, 6-3, 6-2.
Macalester takes on Hamline in another MIAC dual on Wednesday, April 22 at home. The first matches begin at 4:00 p.m. at Hayden Tennis Courts.
