ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Track & Field team will travel to High Point, N.C., for the 2026 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for May 11-13 at Vert Stadium on the campus of High Point University.

Leading the Bulldog Distance Crew
Aneta Kucerová has shined for the Bulldogs throughout the season, setting a new school record of 10:18.97 in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays. Her mark ranks 17th overall and stands as the fifth-fastest time in Big South history. Kucerová also became the first Asheville athlete since 2013 to earn Big South Co-Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors, announced April 1. She later added a runner-up finish and personal-best time of 2:15.76 in the women’s 800m at the Big South vs. SoCon Challenge.
Jonas Roach has showcased his versatility this season with three victories across three different events. Roach opened with a win in the men’s 2,000m steeplechase at the Big South vs. SoCon Challenge in 6:26.37 before claiming the men’s 3,000m steeplechase title at the Bulldog Invite in 9:39.22. He later captured the men’s 5,000m title at the Catamount Classic in a personal-best 15:02.01, improving his previous best by seven seconds.
Alison Graf opened the outdoor season in impressive fashion at Wake Forest, running a personal-best 2:09.27 in the women’s 800m to move to the top of the Big South leaderboard. Graf later broke the Asheville school record at the Catamount Classic with a personal-best 2:08.58, surpassing the previous mark by 0.28 seconds.
At the Bulldog Invite, Marika Dickel placed second in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:32.56, moving to No. 4 all-time in program history. Her performance earned Big South Female Freshman Athlete of the Week honors, announced April 15.
Leading the Bulldog Sprints
The women’s 4x100m relay team of Kieayla Williams, Francesca Cergol, Alexis Vaughan, and Kamryn Peeples set a new school record of 46.91 at the Big South vs. SoCon Challenge.
Shemarr Session opened his season with victories in both the men’s 110m hurdles (14.52) and 200m (21.12) at the Big South vs. SoCon Challenge. At the Davidson Relays, Session helped the Bulldogs win the 4x400m relay in 3:17.00 alongside Jalice Payton, Braelin June, and Jeremiah Louis. He also added a second-place finish in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.80.
Demorris Jordan delivered a standout performance at the Bulldog Invite, finishing second in the men’s 200m with a personal-best 21.27, third in the 100m with 10.51, and helping Asheville place second in the 4x100m relay with a time of 41.06. Jordan earned Big South Male Freshman of the Week honors following the meet and now ranks No. 4 in program history in the 200m. He continued his strong form at the Catamount Classic, winning the 100m in 10.67 and placing second in the 200m with a time of 21.51.
Leading the Bulldog Throws, Jumps, and Multis
Madison Hannah has put together a strong senior season heading into the championships. At the Catamount Classic, Hannah broke the school record in the women’s discus with a throw of 45.99m, finishing runner-up while surpassing the previous 25-year-old record by 1.15 meters. The mark also represented a personal-best improvement of nearly two meters. Hannah additionally claimed the discus title at the Big South vs. SoCon Challenge with a throw of 41.42m.
Nkosi Jeju opened the outdoor season with a second-place finish in the men’s long jump at the Big South vs. SoCon Challenge, recording a mark of 7.25m. He later won the long jump at the Bulldog Invite with a season-best leap of 7.32m, which ranked No. 65 nationally in Division I at the time. Jeju also posted a personal-best 10.50 to finish second in the men’s 100m at the same meet.
Jaelyn Arnold recorded a personal-best 46.27m in the women’s hammer throw at the Bulldog Invite to finish second and move to No. 3 in program history. Arnold also added a runner-up finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.07m.
