Edward Barber has surprised fans with news that he is now engaged to his non-showbiz girlfriend.
The actor and occasional TV host, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, shared the news while speaking at his church.
“From the last time I was here, I am now in an awesome relationship,” Edward said.
He then introduced Ricki.
“This is not just my girlfriend; this is my fiancée, Ricki,” he said. “I proposed to her, so she’s now my fiancée.”
A photo of him and Ricki were then shown via LED screen, drawing cheers from the congregation.
A photo later shared online showed Ricki wearing her engagement ring.
The announcement comes as something of a surprise because Edward has not publicly shared much about his romantic life.
In recent years, he has been more visible through occasional hosting work and his involvement in church ministry.
Last January, Edward was ordained as a pastor at Favor Church Manila, having previously spoken about finding his calling in ministry.
