Years later, seeing Marlou Arizala, also known as Xander Ford, doing a “blush blindness” trend online brought back memories of that period. Sassa decided to recreate her old makeup habit for TikTok and turned the experience into comedy.

“So ginawa ko siya sa TikTok, in-eksena ko siya,” she recalled.

Her childhood was equally colorful. Sassa revealed that her father was involved in cockfighting, making the sounds and terminology surrounding gamefowl familiar to her while growing up.

She even jokingly credited the family’s roosters for competing with her for attention, saying, “Wala. Ayun, mga manok. Mga manok nga, yun yung mga kalaban ko sa atensyon!”

But the lighter stories eventually shifted to romance when Sassa was asked about actor Joao Constancia, her onscreen partner.

She admitted being excited upon learning they would work together, initially because she found him attractive. What began as simple admiration, however, apparently changed once they started spending time together.

“Nung malaman kong si Joao, parang na-excite ako, siyempre pogi eh,” she shared.

Sassa said she had not been the type to easily fall for someone before, but working closely with Joao brought out an unexpectedly shy side of her.

“Tapos nung naka-work ko na siya… first day. Ayun, wala na tayong magagawa,” she joked.

She even connected her feelings to Skusta Clee’s “Since Day One,” saying Joao had become her crush from the very beginning.

With her trademark humor, Sassa then offered a playful message to others who might also admire the actor: “I feel like talagang maraming nagkakandarapa sa kanya. So yes. Sensya na, ako naka-get!”

Not every celebrity encounter has been as enjoyable.

Sassa also recalled an uncomfortable incident at an event involving an unnamed male showbiz personality who, according to her, had been drinking. She and her companions had been waiting for one of their fellow artists, who was speaking with the man.

When Sassa approached, she said the male celebrity suddenly pointed at her and ordered her to leave.

“You, you, you go away!” she remembered him saying.

The unexpected treatment caught her off guard. Rather than escalate the situation, Sassa chose to walk away and wait elsewhere for her companions.

“Parang random encounter lang. Jusko, nakakaloka, ’di ba? Well, iba talaga ang lasing. Wala tayong magagawa,” she said.

From sharing lip tint in school and growing up around her father’s gamefowl to navigating viral fame, an unexpected celebrity encounter and a budding attraction to a handsome leading man, Sassa’s stories reveal that much of the humor audiences enjoy today comes from turning ordinary—and sometimes awkward—moments into something worth laughing about.
