This summer is shaping up to be a big one for domestic travel, especially when it comes to outdoors travel in the U.S., which means campsites and national parks fill up quickly.

And many are requiring timed advance reservations and much higher fees. So check out Recreation.gov, a good site for national parks and wilderness areas.

Then there’s Freecampsites.net, a very good go-to resource if you need to find free campsites on public land and that also includes state and local parks.

And finally there’s Hipcamp. It’s like the Airbnb version of a campsite directory for campsites available on private land.
