ANY nosy entertainment reporter determined to nail Dominic Roque down for an interview will only walk away in utter disappointment. In fact, a tabloid scribe made an attempt when he chanced upon Dominic at a festival in Mindoro.

The poor reporter was politely turned down though.

“Spare me,” was Dominic’s curt excuse, “Get Sue [Ramirez, his girlfriend] instead. After all, she’s the one in showbiz.”

Dom needed to brush any attempt to interview him aside as he had quit showbiz since 2018. He confessed though: “People say I’m the only actor they know who doesn’t have any project. Truth be told, I no longer am that’s why nothing keeps me busy except that I’m still very much into organizing events with my business partners.”

So, it’s not because he has distanced himself from the press? Dominic gave an implied answer, later explaining that he’s simply wary of getting unfairly bashed.

Based on experience, the now-entrepreneur would grant interviews only to get misconstrued by people: “Worse, me getting ‘beaten’ on social media. So, I tell the reporters, as nicely as I can, to just run after Sue.”

Not only is Dom cautious these days with social media beatings, he says it’s pretty obvious what the reporters come to him for.

Without a hint, his opinion toward the current goings-on about his ex-flame Bea Alonzo is what piques everybody’s interest.

Social media had lately been awash with “peeks in pics” documenting Bea’s calendar of activities with current beau Vincent Co.

Dom, however, would choose to clam up — a veritable sign that what for, when he has already gotten back on an even keel since their 2023 breakup?

As the reporter who got rejected at the Mindoro event said: “Mukha namang masaya si Dom para kay Bea (Dom seemed happy for Bea)!”

For certain, Bea is as much happy for Dom!

ACTRESS-film producer Sylvia Sanchez has every reason to smile these days despite the accusations hounding her (Atayde) family.

The Nathan Studios matriarch would rather take pride in its official entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival — “I’m Perfect.”

A family drama under the helm and also from the story idea of Sigfrid Andrea Bernardo, the film headlines “literal nobodies” Jessica and Jiro caught in a tale that tackles Down Syndrome. Among the final four MMFF entries announced last October 10 at the Univesity of Makati, Sylvia — who’s also in the cast — confessed to have prayed the rosary for its inclusion.

“It was clearly an answered prayer,” Sylvia says of the film which also stars Lorna Tolentino, Janice de Belen, Tonton Gutierrez, Joey Marquez and Zaijian Jaranilla.
