Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women’s swimming standouts Sara Turner (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) and Maura Rubio (Meadville, Pa./Reach Cyber Charter) have been named NEC Prime Performers for the week of October 15 following their impressive performances at the Colgate Invitational.
Turner led the Red Flash with multiple top-five finishes across the two-day meet, continuing her strong start to the 2025–26 season. She placed second in the 400-yard individual medley (4:37.06), fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.13), and added a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.19). A consistent leader in the pool, Turner’s versatility once again anchored the team’s success as the Red Flash finished fourth overall.
Rubio also delivered a standout weekend, earning a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (58.98) and following that up with a runner-up showing in the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.53). Her strong backstroke performances paced the Red Flash and helped secure key points in team standings.
Turner and Rubio’s efforts contributed to a strong overall team performance at Colgate, as Saint Francis posted personal bests and season-opening milestones.
Saint Francis will return to action on Saturday, October 18, for a dual meet at Millersville University beginning at 1 p.m.
