Devin Sykes has a vision for a 1920s-era former service station on Detroit’s east side that’s not far removed from its original purpose.
Sykes, 37, wants to turn this corner property he’s in the process of rehabbing at Mack Avenue and Hurlbut Street into a do-it-yourself garage, a place that would offer walk-in customers a chance to rent space by the hour or longer or where members would book time for their own automotive projects.
