Holland America Line has unveiled details of its 2028 Grand Voyages programme, featuring a 129-day round-the-world sailing and a 90-day Australia and New Zealand itinerary.
The 129-day Grand World Voyage on Volendam will depart Fort Lauderdale on 4 January 2028. The itinerary includes a four-day Antarctic Experience as well as sailings through South America’s Chilean Fjords, Glacier Alley and the Beagle Channel with a visit to Easter Island and a sail past Null Island, where the Equator meets the Prime Meridian.
The voyage continues across the South Pacific and French Polynesia, including a call at Bora Bora, before heading to New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia and around the Cape of Good Hope. In total, the ship will visit 45 ports across 26 countries and territories on six continents, including 31 UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Valparaíso Historic Quarter, Komodo National Park and the Taj Mahal.
Meanwhile, the 90-day Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage will set sail on Zaandam on a roundtrip from San Diego on 30 January 2028. The itinerary crosses the Pacific via Hawaii and the South Pacific, calling at destinations including Bora Bora before continuing to New Zealand and Australia, with stops in more remote regions of the country’s north and west.
The return leg features ports across Melanesia, Fiji, Samoa and French Polynesia, with an extended stay in Bora Bora. The voyage will visit 41 ports in 12 countries and territories, including 13 UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Great Barrier Reef and Tongariro National Park. Overnight calls are scheduled in cities including Hobart, Sydney, Cairns, Fremantle, Auckland and Papeete.
Both sailings will include on-board enrichment programmes, regional performances and formal events such as gala balls and the Captain’s Grand Voyage Dinner.
Holland America Line President Beth Bodensteiner said the itineraries were shaped by guest demand for more immersive travel and rare ports of call.
She added: “What makes our Grand Voyage itineraries special is the opportunity to experience destinations more fully while visiting rare Mariners’ Collection ports exclusive to these cruises.”
Early booking incentives are available for both voyages, including on-board credit, air credit, wi-fi packages and transfers, subject to terms and conditions. Bookings for the 2028 Grand World Voyage must be made by 14 June 2027 to qualify for the full range of benefits.
