The office of Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that it has helped 35 victims recover the full amount of $171,332, including associated fees. These recoveries stem from Arizona’s Cryptocurrency Self-Service Terminal License Fraud Prevention Act, which took effect on September 26, 2025. The law explicitly outlines obligations for operators of cryptocurrency self-service terminals and ATMs: when customers report fraudulent transactions, companies must refund the full amount involved and all related fees. Eligibility for refunds depends on prompt action: victims must notify the Attorney General’s office or local law enforcement within 30 days of the transaction.
