Surprise! Nicole Kidman’s latest role was an unexpected one. Last night, Troye Sivan released the lead single-slash-title track from his forthcoming album, She’s the Best, and it came with a star-studded music video. And leading the cast of familiar faces was none other than the singer’s Oscar-winning Boy Erased co-star.
Trading the big screen for the music industry, Kidman took center stage in her fellow Aussie’s video. Portraying the mysterious, leather-clad, cigarette-smoking woman detailed by Sivan in the track, she made her way from the car to a burlesque drag show, heading through the dressing room and into the crowd. Dressed in a black fur coat and skintight leather dress with matching gloves and slept-in hair, she watched the singer perform on stage, before luring him down to come dance with her.
Elsewhere, Kidman helped the performers—the iconic Sasha Colby, Love Bailey, and Sivan in drag—with their makeup and costumes, swapping her fur for a trench coat. “He’s the best. She’s the best,” the actor wrote on Instagram.
At its core, the music video was a tribute to the women in Sivan’s life. “Boys have come and gone, work has come and gone, but I have always, always had my girls,” he shared. “My whole life I’ve existed in the orbit of incredible women. This is my love letter to them.”
Continuing, he advised everyone to “walk down the street today with your headphones in and listen to this song and look around.” The “divine feminine,” he said, “is everywhere.”
