Antioch felon charged with possessing guns after police raid home over child pornography transacations

ANTIOCH — A local resident is facing federal gun charges, which authorities say they found during a raid of his home after gathering evidence he was buying child sexual abuse material on the dark web, according to court records.

Anthony Robinson, 46, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. The criminal complaint, authored by a Homeland Security Investigations agent, says Robinson was found with four guns, including unserialized weapons and an AR-15 with a 60-round magazine.

HSI raided his home after finding evidence he’d used cryptocurrency to buy child pornography from a site called “My Boys” last February. An undercover agent searched around the site and found evidence Robinson had downloaded videos of prepubescent children sexually abusing one another, the complaint alleges.

Back in 2022, police received a tip from Robinhood Inc. involving Robinson allegedly downloading child sexual abuse material back then. After the raid on his home, Robinson allegedly admitted to “bulk downloading” pornography, and that he had “encountered” child sexual abuse material on the internet before.

The complaint says Robinson has prior felony convictions for grand theft and gun possession and isn’t allowed to have guns because of them. He is being held in the Contra Costa jail system and is due for a detention hearing on Sept. 4.
