Arlo Parks – 8.31.26
London-based indie R&B singer-songwriter Arlo Parks popped into the WXPN studio Monday afternoon to chat with host Mike Vasilikos ahead of her gig at Union Transfer.
Parks’ latest album, Ambiguous Desire, is just a few months old and the 26-year-old is on a world tour to support the record.
In speaking with Vasilikos, Parks talked about how she got her start in music, her eclectic taste, and how Ambiguous Desire taps into her previous releases for inspiration.
”Whenever I’ve started an album-making process, I’m always so much of a sponge and listening to everything from Duruti Column to Nine Inch Nails to DJ Shadow, Radiohead,” Parks told Vasilikos. “I was just kinda soaking in those references, and that felt really recharging to me. I listen to music, like, 100 percent of the time, even when I sleep.”
