To celebrate the re-opening of the bandstand, a concert was held led by Ukulele Bedford and Sax’s Cool.

Improvements have also been made in other areas of the park.

The council said these included central flower bed maintenance and a footpath upgrade near the Foster Hill Road entrance, aimed at boosting accessibility.

“Bedford Park attracts people from across the borough and beyond,” Gallagher added.

“We are proud to ensure it remains a valued and much-loved landmark for years to come, offering a welcoming space for relaxation, recreation and events.”

The BBC has asked the council for the cost of the work but has yet to hear back.
