Israel-US-Iran War: If Bushehr is hit, the Gulf’s real crisis will not be war, but water
The most recent projectile attack on Iran’s Bushehr on Saturday landed barely 350 metres from nuclear power plant. Strikes on the coastal nuclear facility have raised concerns across the Gulf as the region is on the brink of a far wider crisis. While Iran may be the target, a strike on Bushehr could leave the entire Gulf region high and dry, quite literally so! Contaminated seawater could halt desalination, leaving millions of people in Gulf countries without drinking water.
