EXCLUSIVE: Burning Man’s Orgy Dome is back and bigger than ever following last year’s devastating storm, with one attendee revealing why organizers hand out ‘extra pads’

Burning Man’s Orgy Dome is back after last year’s storm destroyed it.

In 2025, a sudden desert storm brought intense 50mph gusts and thick walls of dust that slammed into the Nevada camp. And because the camp did not have immediate wind blockages, the storm ripped into the famous Orgy Dome tent.

The high winds shredded the fabric and bent its support poles, with volunteers inside frantically trying to hold it down before being forced to evacuate to vehicles for safety. However, despite best efforts, the famous sex tent was destroyed as the storm caused between $20,000 and $30,000 in structural damage.

But the Orgy Dome is back with a bang in 2026 after organizers launched a massive grassroots fundraising campaign, ultimately raising nearly $70,000 from supporters.

Upon the tent’s return to Burning Man, a former attendee spoke to The Mirror US on condition of anonymity about his second time inside the Orgy Dome.

The Orgy Dome attendee praised the tent’s elaborate setup, gushing about its well-presented interior, as he said, “They had put in these elaborate chandeliers in every room, you know, magnificent lighting.

“They had different drapes that were these beautiful, almost like a crimson, auburn, mahogany, you know, beautiful space and these stand-up lamps with very wonderful mood lighting, and people were walking around with buckets full of supplies.”

He also claimed that one of the supplies provided by the dome was “extra pads,” something he said were used if one partook in “things that created a lot of bodily fluids.”

“They had condoms and lube in case you didn’t bring your own, as well as they were carrying around rose water, lavender water so they could spritz this in your area if you wanted to,” the protected source added.

However, our insider claimed that it wasn’t just sex taking place in the tent, but there were also “beautiful little happenings,” such as when a violinist “would roam” the dome, or when a saxophone trio would “peruse the spaces and play some mood music.”

Crucially, the source explained that the Orgy Dome puts safety at the forefront of its work.

According to the attendee, there is a waiting area outside of the tent where volunteers can make sure that potential participants aren’t too intoxicated.

“They have a waiting area where they’re actually observing you. So if somebody is too inebriated, clearly on a substance that makes it so that their ability to give consent is inhibited, they’re like, ‘I’m sorry, go find another space,'” he told us. “So really beautiful, really intentional, absolutely phenomenal, orchestrated curation, mediation, facilitation.”
