Daveigh Chase shot to fame when she took on the role of the evil Samara in classic horror flick The Ring − now the official cause of her sudden death has been given

The official ruling of what caused Daveigh Chase’s sudden death has been given. It has been revealed that she had died as a result of AIDS.

Chase, who shot to fame as the evil Samara in the horror classic The Ring, passed away just two weeks ago aged 35. In a shocking announcement, her boyfriend opened up on her secret health battles, including a terrifying blood infection.

Now, it has been ruled that she had passed away on June 16 as a result of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.

According to the LA County Medical Examiner, Chase passed away following a lengthy battle with the disease. AIDS is the advanced stage of HIV, a disease that attacks the body’s immune system, making them more vulnerable to future illnesses.

However, it was also ruled that chronic substance abuse − including the repeated use of several drugs over time − was also ruled as a major reason which led to her death. It comes after her partner Roy Hernandez had been pleading with her fans to help raise money for her care through a GoFundMe.

Roy would eventually confirm Chase’s death, explaining she had been dealing with a brutal health battle, taking on a slew of extra conditions. This included the potentially fatal meningitis, sepsis and a separate blood infection.

Appealing to fans to give their money to her car, Roy penned: “Daveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life. But behind the scenes, she’s faced more than her share of hardship.

“After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA,” he added. “When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved.”

Later on he posted: “Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections. Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left. All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy.”

Chase shot to fame back in 2002 when she played the chilling role of Samara in The Ring. She would later have roles in other hit shows and movies − including cult classic Donnie Darko, as well as Disney hit Lilo & Stitch.
