Alcock, 26, plays the lead role of Supergirl in the movie, and was with her co-stars Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult when the unwelcome touch happened.

The Australian actress had her back to the pack of media on the red carpet in the moment as she chatted with her co-stars.

The 32-year-old American actor, who is best known for his role playing Superman, saw it happen and didn’t like it.

Immediately, he stormed to the other side of the group and signalled for the photographer to “back off”.

The actor then went over to him as the tense exchange continued.

The stars of the movie then moved over to the media wall to take a group shot together.

The moment was captured during a YouTube livestream of the red carpet and was quickly picked up by fans, going viral.

Many fans praised Corenswet for his reaction, and the top comment on the post pointed out, “See, that’s Superman”.

Others were glad that he stepped in and were glad that he defended her.

Some people did wonder if the move was a slight overreaction, when it looked like the photographer was just trying to get her attention.

Although as one fan pointed out, you can’t see Alcock’s face in the clip and don’t know what her reaction was, which prompted the reaction from Corenswet.

Alcock has been in the headlines this week, but for a lovely reason.

It was revealed that the House of the Dragon star donated $10,000 to the Petersham Bowls Club, located on the same street she grew up on.

The donation is to help the bowls club build an accessibility ramp.

Alcock grew up in Sydney’s Inner West, studying at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts before skyrocketing to fame as young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon.

On June 26, her first major blockbuster is set to hit Aussie cinemas as she takes on the lead in the new Supergirl film, after first making a cameo as the character in 2025’s Superman.
