A Love Island fan favourite challenge will reportedly return tonight after a whopping seven-year break.

The game has previously divided couples and friendships in the villa and is set to see the islanders descend into chaos.

Formerly known as the Twitter challenge, it involves islanders reading out fan tweets to learn what the public truly thinks of them.

However, the challenge is back this year under a new name, Tea, Receipts and Truths.

It will feature a combination of “Villa Receipts,” which reveals remarks made by islanders behind each other’s backs in the villa, and “Public Tea,” which features remarks made by fans on social media.

A show source revealed to The Sun: “The game throws the villa into complete chaos as what the public thinks of the islanders is exposed.”

“Comments that islanders would rather have stayed secret will also come out in the open.”

Confirming it will cause chaos within couples, they added: “Two of the villa couples are left fuming and it caused HUGE drama.”

Last month, Love Island bosses appeared to confirm the iconic challenge was set to return.

Over the last few series, fans have been begging bosses to bring back the infamous Twitter Challenge.

Furthermore, viewers have asked to bring back daily challenges, but the episodes have been so drama-filled their simply wasn’t enough time to fit them in.

The Sun asked ITV bosses, Amanda and Lewis, if the Tweet game would be making a comeback.

And while it appears it is in-fact on the cards, it may be a slightly reimagined version.

Amanda said: “It’s really interesting you bring that up. There is an idea that is in the making.”

Lewis added: “Also, I think Ask Me Anything does a little bit of that which is, the game that the couples play quite near the end of the series when they’re allowed to ask the public one question about their couple and one question about another couple which is always really juicy.”

“And the audience vote, yes or no.”

The challenge, which previously caused huge arguments, sees the islanders each given two tweets that have been made by the public in relation to their fellow islanders.

They would have to accurately identify the individuals the tweet is referring to in order to receive a point, and they are rarely flattering.

The brutal game, which was shelved after 2020, has been titled Twitter Bingo, Online Bingo and Online Buzz.

Love Island icon Olivia Attwood wrote of the challenge on X: “The LI kids these days will never know what we (I) went through. Character building lolol.”
