COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — You may have always been warned not to eat raw cookie dough, but a new spot in Coeur d’Alene is serving up the treat completely safe and delicious.

Quirkie Dough is now open offering flavors and set up just like an ice cream parlor. The dough has no eggs and is made with specialty heat-treated flour that’s safe to consume.

You can get scoops or dough flights and add some of your favorite ice cream toppings.

Owner Sabrina Whitcomb says she left a career in healthcare and wanted to reignite her passion for baking. She got the idea while on a trip with her husband.

“I’ve always dreamed of owning my own something and getting back into my creative space was really important,” said Whitcomb. “We have one life. You might as well be happy in it.”

Quirkie Dough is open Tuesday-Sunday at 2946 N. Government Way in Coeur d’Alene. You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram to find out about new flavor releases and upcoming community events.
