I was not blown away by the fashion at the Emmys—the sheer amount of satin is a recession indicator—aside from an obvious style star like Zendaya. But then Julianna Margulies came out to present Michael J. Fox with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, and I sat up a little bit.
She wore this two-toned black and red Cong Tri dress and it looked GREAT on camera. The draping moved beautifully as she walked across the stage.

So, Julianna Margulies is my best dressed on a night when I was mostly just whelmed by the style. I genuinely like this dress, I think it is great on its own and she looks great in it. It is similar in idea to Cynthia Nixon’s Issey Miyake gown, which is also draped over one shoulder:

I really like Nixon’s dress, too, but it doesn’t move as beautifully as Margulies’s, and it appears stiff in some photographs. Margulies’s dress just has such a beautiful flow. For its striking red contrast and beautiful movement, Margulies’s dress takes the cake.
Please note: this is not an endorsement of Julianna Margulies, who is never not putting her foot all the way down her mouth. It’s an endorsement of a GREAT dress from Cong Tri.
