What movies and TV shows has David Denman been in?
If you pause while watching Peacock‘s M.I.A. because you recognize Denman, the actor who plays Etta’s dad, Dan, there’s a good chance you know him from the mockumentary sitcom, The Office. Denman played Roy Anderson, a warehouse worker for Dunder Mifflin.
As the fiancé of Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) on The Office, Roy proved himself to be wrong for Pam, which also helped pave the way for Jim Halpert (John Krasinskik) to get together with Pam and for that pair to become one of the most iconic TV couples of all time. (After all, Pam needed someone to confide in and complain about her relationship to.) Whether fans of The Office loved or hated him, Roy was pivotal in Jim and Pam’s love story.
Denman’s first TV role was in a 1997 episode of ER. He followed that up with guest appearances in shows like Chicago Hope, The X-Files, CSI: Miami, Angel, Bones, Grey’s Anatomy, and a recurrding role in Drop Dead Diva. He also had main roles in shows like Traffic Light and Outcast.
He played Frank Sheehan in the miniseries Mare of Easttown and had a recurring role as Ed Brooks on the series Parenthood. Recently, Denman appeared in several episodes in Season 2 of Peacemaker.
Denman’s movie credits include 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016), Brightburn (2019), The Equalizer 3 (2023), and Rebel Ridge (2024).
