Nebraska sheriff urging no travel after crash sends 6 people to the hospital

STANTON, Neb. (KTIV) – A Northeast Nebraska sheriff is urging people to stay off the roads after a crash on a local highway.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger tells KTIV there was a major crash on Highway 275 west of the town of Pilger. According to the sheriff, it involved three vehicles, and six people were sent to the hospital. No other information has been released about the injuries.

As of 12:40 p.m., authorities are still at the crash site, and Sheriff Unger says they have zero visibility in the area. Highway 275 between Pilger and the Stanton turn-off has been closed while authorities clear the scene.

Sheriff Unger is urging the public to stay off the roads while the blizzard conditions persist.
