Newcastle have been credited with interest in Rayo Vallecano right-back Andrei Ratiu. Reports in Spain say the Magpies have been linked with the hiighly-rated Romanian defender, along with Nottingham Forest.
Ratiu is 28, so it would be a break from the current transfer policy, with the full-back likely to cost around €20m.
He was part of the Vallecano side that lost to Crystal Palace in last season’s Europa Conference League final.
