Paris Hilton and Brooklyn Beckham were among the first famous faces to pay tribute to Presley Gerber following the news of his tragic death.
According to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records obtained by PEOPLE, the 27-year-old model passed away on Sunday, September 20, at a rehab facility.
Presley was the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, and the brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber.
A representative for his family said in a statement, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
His cause of death is currently unknown, and an autopsy has yet to be completed.
Since the news of his death emerged, several celebrities have taken to social media to pay tribute to Presley.
Brooklyn Beckham, 27, took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Presley posing together alongside the caption: “I am so heartbroken. Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you somuch x we love you.”
Paris Hilton, 45, also commented on the model’s final Instagram post, before posting an Instagram Story of herself with Presley.
She captioned the post: “I’m completely heartbroken. I still can’t believe this is real…
“Presley, you were such a beautiful soul. So sweet, sensitive, kind and genuine. I cared about you so much, and I’m going to miss you more than words can say.”
Paris said she will “cherish the memories” that they made together, including “the laughs, the conversations, and just being around you”.
“You had such a gentle heart and there was something so special about you that anyone who was lucky enough to know you could feel…,” Paris penned.
“I hope you knew how deeply loved you were and how many people cared about you. My heart is with your entire family during this unimaginable time. Rest in peace, my friend. Love you forever. You will be so deeply missed,” she added.
Brody Jenner, 43, also commented on Presley’s final Instagram post, simply writing, “love you brother,” alongside a dove and broken heart emoji.
Presley started working as a model as a teenager and appeared in campaigns and made runway appearances for brands like Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.
In 2018, he also appeared alongside his mother in Pepsi’s Super Bowl LII commercial.
Before his death, Presley had previously opened up about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse.
Speaking on the Studio 22 podcast, he said: “Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.
“[Mental health] is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it. That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body. I mean it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.
“I’ve seen a lot of stuff and I’ve learned a lot of things. What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for some other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made.”
Presley had also started sharing ‘Mental Health Mondays’ videos on his Instagram.
In a since-deleted video posted in December 2025, the model revealed the several medications he was on, including Buprenorphine, Xanax and Valium, to treat his “panic attacks.”
“Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now,” he said at the time.
“A. So you feel like you’re not alone, because that is how I feel most of the time, and I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it,” he explained.
“And the second thing is, hopefully, I find some people out here… willing to help or know someone that can help.”
In the recent September 2026 issue of Vogue, Presley’s sister Kaia also opened up about his “decade-long struggle with drug addiction.”
“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia said.
“I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.”
“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” she said. “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
