A month after Paul Walker was killed in a car crash, the Los Angeles coroner released the official autopsy report detailing the Fast and Furious star’s cause of death and final words

A month after Paul Walker was killed in a fatal car crash, the Los Angeles coroner released the harrowing details about the actor’s death.

Walker, who was in the middle of filming the seventh instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise when he died, is believed to have survived the smash but died in the wreck moments later due to the impact and resulting fire.

The 15-page report from the autopsy revealed that Walker and business partner Roger Rodas had been travelling at more than 100mph in a 45mph zone when Rodas lost control of the car.

The pair had been test driving a red 2005 Porshe Carerra GT. The force of the crash was said to have been so strong that the vehicle split almost entirely in half. This comes as The Mirror US took an inside look into the circumstances of his death.

“After the driver’s side of the vehicle hit a light pole and tree, the car continued spinning until Walker’s passenger side slammed into another tree and burst into flames,” read the report.

The coroner listed the cause of death as the ‘combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries. ‘.

Footage from a security camera near the scene showed that the Porsche erupted into flames around a minute after the collision.

Walker’s body was so badly burned that it could not be visually identified.

The actor sustained injuries throughout his body, including fractures to his jaw, collarbone, and left arm.

No drugs or alcohol were found in either Paul’s body or his driver friend’s. In a heartbreaking detail, a small amount of soot was discovered in Walker’s trachea, suggesting he may have taken a breath after the crash.

The tragedy unfolded on a wide street in a business park in Santa Clarita, California, approximately 30 miles north of Hollywood.

Just moments before, Walker had attended a toy donation event for his charity before deciding to join his close friend Rodas for a ride in the Porsche. The car had been on display at the fundraising event, held at a car shop owned by Rodas.

Witnesses at the event reportedly heard the impact from 500 yards away.

Another friend of Walker’s, who had seen him at the event, later came forward to reveal his devastating final words. Jim Thorp told reporters at the scene that he had spoken with Walker just before he climbed into the Porsche with Rodas.

Walker’s last words at the charity event were: “Hey, let’s go for a drive.

“He lived his life, and he died fast and furious… He loved speed, he loved cars, and he had to die this way. He died in a very fast car with his friend,” said Thorp.

Walker was a passionate supercar collector and was adored by fans worldwide for his iconic role in the massively successful Fast and Furious franchise, with production on the seventh installment underway at the time of his death.

Universal Pictures immediately halted filming and pledged to donate profits from Fast and Furious 6 to Walker’s charity. Walker’s youngest brother, Cody Beau Walker, also stepped in to help finish the remaining scenes of Fast and Furious 7, taking on the character of Brian O’Conner, the iconic role Paul had made his own, to keep the film as faithful as possible to its original vision despite his tragic absence.

The actor left behind his daughter Meadow, who was only 15 years old when he passed away.
