According to Sarah Chervinsky, the actor’s attorney, the Transformers star’s sentence also requires him to participate in an alcohol treatment program.

After being arrested close to the city’s famed French Quarter, LaBeouf was freed on bond.

Following allegations of an attack, officers were dispatched to the French Quarter in New Orleans at approximately 12.45 a.m. local time on February 17.

The New Orleans police department reported that the actor was allegedly becoming increasingly aggressive while at the Royal Street Inn and Bar.

LaBeouf allegedly struck a guy “multiple times with closed fists” when an employee attempted to remove him from the building.

Witnesses reportedly told police that the actor left the area but later returned and continued to act aggressively.

According to the police department, another individual told detectives that the actor had punched him in the nose.

The actor was transported to the hospital for “treatment of unknown injuries” after being detained until police arrived.

According to the police, the actor was arrested and charged with “two counts of simple battery” after being discharged from the hospital.

Speaking on “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan,” the actor offered a homophobic justification for the altercation.

“I don’t think I have a drinking problem. I think I have a small man complex. Some kind of Napoleonic…something that has to do with anger and ego more so than my drinking,” he said.

“Gay people are scary to me. When I’m standing by myself and three gay dudes are stood next to me touching my leg, I get scared. I’m sorry. If that’s homophobic, then I’m that.”

When he asked him if that happens a lot, the actor said it was that one time, “that’s why I got arrested,” he said.

“I am wrong for touching anyone ever and that’s the end of my statement on this whole s***.”
